This was our first time here. We were seated immediately event though the full parking lot and space in front were full. They have a large shaded patio area out back so I think that is where most patrons were as the inside wasn't not full. This did delay our meal a little. Had we ordered appetizers the time would have been filled with that but we didn't. We were not upset at the time delay since we could see everyone was hustling. Our waitress (name starts with an M -- couldn't hear her) was really nice and even though she was busy she always stopped by to see if we needed anything.
It is loud in here and it isn't even the music. The patrons were talking so loudly I could hear some of their conversations clearly. Others were just loud mumbles.
The food was tasty. My husband had the Alehouse burger with Korean BBQ sauce on the side (it is SPICY so be ware!!) He liked it but I burnt my taste buds off with just a tiny lick. π The fries are maybe beer battered or the like. They are one of my favorite kinds.
I had the charbroiled chicken salad. It was much like a chicken fajita taco salad. (chicken, green peppers, onions, salsa, fried tortilla pieces, cheese, ranch.) My thoughts on the salad would be branch out from romaine with a mix (too easy to get stuck with pieces with hard ribs that are bitter by themselves) and diced tomatoes rather than cherry tomatoes that I have to chop up in order to eat. Corn and black beans would be lovely too. It was nice to be able to add the salsa for flavor rather than the chicken being overwhelming.
We would come here again but maybe during the week or perhaps earlier in the evening so we can enjoy each other's company and not the company (talking) of the tables next to us.
No receipt, just a total from the waitress. It must be the Gen X in me, I want to see what I am paying for and not just a total with tax included. We paid cash to avoid the added on credit card fees.

Great place to unwind and mingle with locals. The corn chowder was delicious, and the dirty martini was made to perfection. Beautiful ambience along with friendly staff make this place special.
A wonderful experience. Met some friends at Reds during Happy Hour. Great Happy Hour prices! I had a Blueberry Mule. It was delicious, not to sweet and you feel the zing of the ginger beer. We shared appetizers of Crazy Goat and Pretzels. The pretzel bites are always tasty, but this was the first time for the Crazy Goat. It was outstanding. I would also like to give a shout out to our server, Saylor(sp?), she did such a great job. She was cheery, friendly, made some great recommendations and checked on us just the right amount. Thanks for the great experience.
Great beer selection. Good tenderloin sammich. Great staff.
Love Red's. Loved them more when they had happy hour EVERY day, but as of last week, happy hour is only M-F. Bummer.
Our entree salads were also much smaller now.
Reds is such a great local restaurant! This is our "Go To" when family and friends visit us from out of town. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The staff are always attentive and friendly. We don't eat out much as a family, but when we do this is our top choice.
Best patio in the area for eating outdoors. Food is never disappointing. Great beer menu. Relaxed atmosphere. What else is there to say!
The food was DELICIOUS!!!!
Pretzel bites were ON POINT, French Onion soup was perfect, chicken breast salad was just right!!!
However......bring your coat AND A BLANKET!!! The Artic chill was NO JOKE. The breezy 63Β° outside felt like a heat wave compared to the inside!!!!
Always a pleasure interacting with the staff here, from the Managers to the Bartenders, Wait staff, busers etc. Even at its peak busy, they don't take very long and always have a welcoming demeanor. The customers are also just as enjoyable to interact with. Diner is the peak time for them.
The burger was a bit overdone and the bacon on it was burnt. It wasnβt terrible just not as could as it could have been- wish I had tried the coleslaw first which was outstanding. The fresh take on this old usually boring classic was surprisingly great. Once again big portions so save room for the slaw. The waiter seemed somewhat ambivalent and the atmosphere was ok.
Awesome place to go to! Definitely five stars. Our waitress Ashton was nice and would offer to refill our drinks. By the way, the fries are incredible!
I've eaten here a few times and it's very enjoyable. Many of the menu items are quite tasty and they have a good variety of options. Their drink menu is all-encompassing and has something for everyone. The outside seating area is great during nice weather!
Great place to visit if you are in this area. Also, a nice option to eat and drink here when the Coralville and Iowa City popular establishments are filled up.
We went for dinner after a Iowa Hawkeyes game. Fantastic draft beer options and all food we ordered met or exceeded our expectations. Burgers actually tasted fresh and from grill.
We would not hesitate going back here in the future while my son is in college.
Iβve always loved Reds! Great Patio and everyone loves Palmer the Colorado Mountain Dog!
Nice place, good beer selection of many local brews. I got the mac & cheese as a side and it was a generous portion baked in its own cute little casserole dish... and it was cheesy and delicious! Seriously, hubs had it too and we both declared it the best we've had at a restaurant. Hubs burger was a little undercooked but other than that we really liked this place and would do it again!
One of the BEST burger and fries you will ever have (made to perfection) and the staff was friendly & attentive (gave great advice on the beer selections)! Went 2x for the Alehouse & Fahrenheit 319 burger and chickenππ
Worldβs most delicious Brussel Sprouts. Friends efficient waitress. Assistant manager stopped by to see how we liked the food and experience. Gave us free Haynes ice cream when she heard it was my Birthday.
Always love Reds. Had Cadillac margaritas. Pricey drink but so delicious. Most drinks are 50% for happy hour 3 - 6pm. Tai chicken flatbread is my favorite meal.
Iβve been coming here for YEARS. Itβs always a hot spot for locals. The patio is big and welcoming. I truly come here for their crazy goat appetizer. SO GOOD. Canβt find any other restaurants that serves this amazing app.
The only criticism I have is that the music is loudly played. Then top that off with it patrons conversations, it just makes it really hard to hear my server as well as having a conversation with whomever I am with. I would have to shout to have a conversation ????
But other than that the food is great. The service is decent. Atmosphere is debatable ????
Red's is always consistent with good food & service and its one of our go to local restaurants! They also have a great happy hour everyday.
We meet our parents here to eat and catch up. The food is great and depending what time you come there is not a wait. We have loved everything we have ordered and the staff has been more than polite and accommodating with certain needs that we have. Their soups are delicious but we have noticed that the French onion soup is not consistentβ¦ sometimes itβs good and sometimes itβs absolutely delicious.
Once again, this place nailed it. Never dined in doors, but decided to have dinner this time. We usually go outdoors for lunch during the nicer weather. Wanted to try the burgers. Did NOT disappoint! Really, really good burgers! Love the fries. Daughter enjoyed her twisted Mac n cheese. Would definitely come back to try the other burgers! Lighting was a little dark in the room that wasn't the bar. We did dine at night, so might be different during the day. Restrooms were clean.
Had the fish, disappointing; however, the burgers are great. Coleslaw was interesting, cabbage with pickled beet juice on it! Son had a burger and it was perfect, just how he ordered it. So, all in all, I'd go back. Oh, the servers were excellent.
This place is perfect for beer connoisseurs. 3-6 Happy Hour every day. The staff is great! The food is great! I have been fortunate enough to meet Ethan, Jen, Tyler, Mackenzie, Anna, Macy, and Anne. Their customer service is exceptional! The atmosphere is superb. Thank you!

I have only had a good time when coming in to Reds. Everyone has been amazing, and the food has been great. I recently tried their brunch menu, and I have to recommend "Hair of the Dog," a great spin on a chicken and waffle-style dish.
I'm new in town. Picked Red's over the competition for a first visit. I am glad I made the choice. Nothing artificial here! All first class and genuine. There is the kind of service and hospitality born of years of service in the neighborhood - down home - everybody knows your name (you know). Excellent selection of beers. I had an Octoberfest Marzen that proved to be a perfect call, traditional pretzel bites and beer cheese - both excellent, and a good old American standard cheeseburger and French fries - cooked and served perfectly. I'll be back because it is now my favorite place to go. Reliably good time after time.
